Duravit Starck

Exquisite Bathroom Furniture & Fixtures

Duravit Starck

A minimalist bathroom designed with components from the Duravit Philippe Starck collection.   Superb craftsmanship combines with functionality and simplicity for an inviting aesthetic.

Duravit is recognized world wide for their stylish and contemporary bathroom furnishings. The unique and stylish shapes of their bathroom furnishings are the result of their design vision and exquisite manufacturing process.

Duravit design inspiration is the direct result of their ongoing association with renown international  designers such as Sieger Design, Jochen Schmiddem, Frank Huster, Philippe Starck, EOOS and Phoenix Design. It is through this international design collaboration that Duravit has become one of the leaders in the bathroom furniture, fixtures and accessories industry.

Starck’s Paris-based design office focuses on useful household items rather than the creation of expensive or exotic products.  A truly exciting element of his work is the combining of unique but complementary materials – such combinations as glass and stone, chrome and fabric or aluminum with plastic.  Through the unlikely fusion of some of these materials, we are introduced to the Starck signature aesthetic.

Philippe Starck is sometimes referred to as the 'pop star of design.'  His international reputation for design was already well formed when he was in his early twenties.

With a raft of unique projects and designs to his credit, there is little he hasn't re-imagined and made new and different.

With the Starck 1 line, Starck has captured some of the simple, fundamental elements of life to rewrite bathroom history.  Returning to the beginnings of hygiene, the Starck 1 washbasin, bathtub and toilet can be seen as upscale reinterpretations of the washbowl, tub and bucket.

Inherent in each piece is modern day design coupled with the highest quality.

Shown below is a brief tour of the designs that Starck's firm has contributed to the expansive offering of bathroom furniture and fixtures that can be seen at Duravit today.

Starck 2

Philippe Starck's second collection for Duravit, Starck 2, is less elaborate than Starck 1. As to the origins of his design for this line, we learn that Starck 2 "derives its inspiration from the origins of bathroom design: the ceramic forms embody the flowing movement of water and allow us to see the bathroom through a new set of eyes."

Starck 3

Starck 3, as shown above, brings even greater value for the price and offers something for virtually everyone's taste and budget.

Starck 3 is one of Duravit’s most extensive bathroom collections, with more than 50 models.  This one collection is so extensive, that it boasts its own product brochure.

Ah, but then there is Starck 1.  So many choices.  Where to begin?

The Starck 1 line is so vast and so serenely modern, that it's not difficult to imagine one's own bath space incorporating some of the pieces.  The all white bath above invites the user into the tranquil setting.

Starck X - Minimalism

The luxurious Starck X collection 'maximizes minimalism' and is in a class of its own.  It includes bathroom furniture, ceramic pieces, bathtubs and accessories.
